HAT YOU MUST ALWAYS DO IS...
...Have the proper back hand position! (see the Wahssa logo up here. Spread the fingers a bit and keep your thumb up, this is called the "Lotus Position" aka "WEB" . If the back hand may curved back a bit on itself like a scoop, even better! Do not over stretch, the more relax the better!
...Give with it, absorb it on impact, catch it like an egg! A catch is like gravity, is starts up, about "eye level", and it always finishes down. Try to keep it anywhere equal or above the "belt line", if you need to go lower or to the sides, the rest of the body by bending the knees first and must follow the movement of the arm as if all becomes one motion.
...Learn how to keep the hand sack aka sac on the back of the hand and move in all possible angles and forms. This is the very "Tai-Chi" aspect of the game and sport and it teaches how to feel it! A very crucial thing to the learning of this art!
HAT YOU MUST NEVER DO IS...
...Catch it using the palm(s)! This as always been the rule #1 of the game and sport..."No Palms Allowed".
...Hit it with the back of the hand(s)! Since this is how mankind first learn to use the back of their hands, our game being much more peaceful and evolved than that, will not allow impact, but only with this and also the plams.

There is a detailed list of tricks into the AIR, WATER, FIRE and EARTH pages of this site. Below here is very short simple list of the basic tricks we masters of the Art teach everyday to everybody…
360: Toss it up and go around it with the same hand and catch it with the same hand as well.
Underleg: Bring it under and across the leg to toss it up and catch it with the same hand.
Illusion / Mirage: Toss it up and make the other hand go around it, and catch with the tossing hand. Looks like a slicer motion, going over then back under is Illusion, while going underneath the Sac and coming back over is the Mirage.
Then kick it, toss it behind your back, bounce it off your shirt...
